The orange streetlights are making Halloween outside my car. And all the stores have closed down tonight And I think that maybe you and I are quite through With whatever it is that people like you and me do. I guess we'll never be happy With whatever it is we are or have. As I'm passing the beach any Birds coming home late would wonder What someone is doing still out On the road for at this hour. I'm just looking for some answers That I couldn't get from you Or my magic 8-ball because when I ask it: "Will you be here tomorrow?" It keeps saying: "Ask a professional." Well sometimes I wish I was a professional Of anything really. Just to feel important. The cool air is coming through my AC And the world around me Looks like it's underwater And I wish I was swimming around there too. But when the sun chases the fog away And the moon's bluish white blanket I'll be back with you.

I’m never going back to Jones Beach. The water’s just too warm You were sitting in your cotton blue dress smiling like the old salty sun. Smiling like the old salty sun. Falling for you was like tripping on a crack in the sidewalk I never fell so fast or so hard in my life. In my life. Autumn came and the leaves changed to colors orange and red. We started getting fucked up all the time and fought till we collapsed. Yeah we fought till we collapsed. I’m never going back to Jones Beach. The weather’s just too mild. But I want to call you on your cellular phone and tell you that I don’t miss you. Anymore.

The white trees they call to me But I’m not going home. Driving down I-76 The sky collapses onto me. Pennsylvania knows my name But she’ll never speak it again. I was young when I left home Now I know I’ve always been alone. You always knew better than me You took everything you could see. Pennsylvania knows my name But she’ll never hear it again. You’ve been gone for years now.

We sit At a crowded bar And I joke With whiskey breath We'll probably getting married aren't we? You say You didn't hear me. Nevermind It's not important You smile and tussle my hair. You were always the strong one, You were strong enough for the two of us. We go outside And we share a smoke We ruin our throats With everything we do. Things are good right now, But not forever. We share a cab, And we go home.

The best ever death metal band out of Denton Was a couple of guys who'd been friends since grade school One was named Cyrus, the other was Jeff And they practiced twice a week in Jeff's bedroom The best ever death metal band out of Denton Never settled on a name But the top three contenders after weeks of debate Were Satan's Fingers, and The Killers, and The Hospital Bombers Jeff and Cyrus believed in their hearts They were headed for stage lights and lear jets and fortune and fame So in script that made prominent use of a pentagram They stenciled their drum heads and guitars with their names And this was how Cyrus got sent to the school Where they told him he'd never be famous And this was why Jeff, in the letters he'd write to his friend Helped develop a plan to get even When you punish a person for dreaming his dream Don't expect him to thank or forgive you The best ever death metal band out of Denton Will in time both outpace and outlive you Hail Satan Hail Satan tonight Hail Satan Hail, hail

about

This is a split we recorded during March of 2013 with Aaron Calvin. Everyone got sick and drank too much coffee and smoked too many cigarettes.
